چکیده
This work describes the effect of newly introduced faying surfaces on microstructure and mechanical properties dissimilar weld joints AA6063 AISI304L alloys that are fabricated through rotary friction welding process (RFW). The experiments were done as six different experimental methods (‘A’ to ‘F’) at 1300 rpm rotation, 18 MPa pressure (FP), 24 upset (UP) 5 s time (FT) with hemispherical bowl thread 1 mm pitch specimens. zones characterized by macro microstudy, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) spectrums, tensile properties, Vickers microhardness, impact toughness fractography. results showed these surface modifications strengthen bonding between specimens influences performance joints. better than threaded surfaces. Axial shortenings within acceptable limit in range 20–27 mm. Macro microstructural studies defect-free strong alloys. alloy formed a U-shaped interface (WI) EDS proved formation Fe–Al intermetallic element ‘O’ zone. joint efficiency for all was around ≥100%. Maximum strength recorded 238 method F. good hardness property nearby WI, A yielded maximum joint.

Effect of friction stir welding parameters on the microstructure and mechanical properties of dissimilar AA2024-AA6061 joints
In the present study, to resolve the problems in fusion welding methods as well as to increase the strength, FSW method was used to join aluminum alloy sheets 6061 and 2024. Moreover, optimal parameters for joining of these two alloys were also taken into consideration. Various tool rotation speeds of 565, 950 and 1500 rpm were selected. For each tool rotation speed, two traverse speed variable...
متن کاملEffect of Friction Stir Welding on Mechanical Properties of Dissimilar Aluminium Alloys
Friction stir welding is advance joining process for different similar and dissimilar metals. It is commonly used for joining of Aluminium alloys. In this study an attempt were made to join commercial structuralaluminium with 7039 aluminium alloy. A zig-zag pattern of hardness was found in weld nugget. Microstructural characterization and fractography of joints were examined using optical and s...
